Abstract (EN)
he European Union is one of the significant actors in the international system. The EU has a supranational institutional structure and it aims to spread economic integration to other areas. The need of EU citizens' support for integration has increased because of widening processes in the EU. This increasing need has caused the discussions on the existence of a European identity. The study focuses on European identity by drawing a historical perspective and analyzes the identity policies of the European Union. On the other hand, rising extreme right in Europe and Brexit process has been a challenge for the future of European integration. In this context, the European integration is analyzed in terms of the existence of extreme right parties and Brexit process.
