Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis is to comparatively analyze the adoption of innovations by investigating the information and learning resources of organic agricultural enterprises and conventional agricultural enterprises registered in the Farmer Registration System in Adana. The main material of this study consists of primary data obtained from 33 organic farmers and 118 conventional farmers in Adana provinces and districts, calculated using the Simple Random Sampling Method. According to the results of Mann Whitney U test, the follow-up status of agricultural innovations of farmers who practice organic agriculture and those who do not practice shows a significant difference at the 0.01 significance level. Farmers who practice organic agriculture follow agricultural innovations more than farmers who practice conventional agriculture. Additionally, organic farmers are more willing to try innovations than conventional farmers. Farmers who practice organic farming in the research region are more innovative than farmers who practice conventional agriculture. All of the farmers engaged in organic agriculture and conventional agriculture stated that they would implement agricultural innovations if they significantly contributed to their income and productivity. The main source where farmers participating in the research get information about agricultural innovations is the internet. By using the internet and social media more effectively by relevant institutions and organizations to inform farmers about agricultural innovations, farmers can be enabled to adopt innovation faster and easier.
