Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the perceived social support levels of students who participate in school sports in secondary education institutions. The sample of the study consists of 423 students who participate in school sports in secondary education institutions of Düzce Merkez District. The revision of the Perceived Social Support Scale used in the collection of data was used and applied to students in 9 secondary education institutions of Düzce Merkez District. Perceived Social Support Scale (ASDÖ-R) was developed by Yıldırım (2004) to measure the social support perceived by adolescents, family, friends and teachers. ASÖD-R has three subscales: Family Support (20 items), Friend Support (13 items) and Teacher Support (17 items), and a total of 50 items. The data was collected by yhe triple likert type scale from the choices "appropriate (3)", "partially appropriate (2)" and "not appropriate (1)". The lowest score that can be taken from the scale is 50, the highest score is 150. The research data were analyzed with the help of SPSS package program. In the analysis of the data, the Levene Test was used to check the homogeneity and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to check the normality of the distribution. In the normality test conducted, it was seen that the data were normally distributed for all analyzes. Since the distribution is normal, independent t test was used in the comparison of two unrelated samples, and one way variance analysis was used in comparing two unrelated samples. MANOVA test is applied if the variance-covariance matrices show homogeneity among the variables when the dependent variable is more than one. As a result, there was no statistically significant difference between school and classroom level, monthly income level of family, licensed sports outside school, and participation in team or individual sports in school sports (p> 0.05). Moreover a significant difference was found in favor of social support points perceived from friends by sex (p<0.05). The statistical difference that emerges is that women have a perceived social support score from higher friends. In addition, a significant difference was found in the comparison of social support perceived from the family by the number of siblings (p<0.05).
