In this context, the study seeks to investigate how participation in sport activities during the secondary education affects the life skills of the individual. In the study, the sample group is composed of 779 students in total consisting of 458 male students and 321 female students studying in secondary schools in Merkez district in Kahramanmaras province during the education year 2018-2019. The scale with the original form Life Skills Scale for Sport (LSSS) is developed as 5-Likert type scale in order to evaluate the life skills obtained through sport. The scale is usable for secondary schools, high schools and the university students up to 21 years of age. The scale for which the validity and reliability in Turkish was conducted includes total 31 articles containing 7 sub dimensions: teamwork, goal setting, time management, emotional skills, communication, social skills and leadership. The statistical package program (SPSS 21 Version) was used to analyze the data obtained in the research. Data were analyzed for normality. As a result of the tests, it was seen that the data were not distributed normally, and non-parametric tests were utilized for the analyzes. Mann Whitney U test was used for dual comparisons as Kruscal Wallis H tests were used for multiple comparisons. In the study the level of significance was accepted as P <0.05. The findings of the study showed that there were differences in the life skills of the sample group according to the variables addressed. As a result, it was concluded that age, gender, class, sporting situation, playing in the school team, the type of sports they do, and the educations of their parents caused significant differences in formation of the life skills of the middle school students as the income level of the families did not affect.
