Application differences of secondary school English lesson between public and private schools

The main purpose of this research is to examine the differences in the implementation of middle school English courses between public and private schools based on the views of teachers and students. The research is designed as a case study . The study group consists of 16 students and 16 English teachers from official and private educational institutions in the Onikişubat and Türkoğlu districts of Kahramanmaraş province. Data were obtained from semi-structured interviews with these teachers and students, using an interview form with five questions. The collected data were analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. The findings reveal that, despite similar pedagogical approaches being adopted in both types of schools, private schools offer more effective learning experiences by using a richer variety of materials and modern methods. Public schools generally rely on textbooks and smart boards, while private schools comprehensively develop students' listening, speaking, writing, reading, and grammar skills through online resources, supplementary materials, and interactive methods. This indicates that the opportunities provided by private schools contribute more to the development of language skills, whereas public schools remain limited in this area.
