The research of motivation and attitudes on social studies course for secondary school students(Gölbaşı sample)

The aim of the Social Studies course and program is to provide students with the target audience; to increase the motivation and attitudes as much as possible with the different approaches, methods, techniques and strategies to be applied and to gain the expected behaviors in line with the general aims of Turkish National Education. In order to determine the realization level of the achievements to be aimed and to improve the opportunities for improvement, it is crucial to determine the basic variables that affect the motivation and attitudes of the students in this course as in other courses The functions of scientific studies in shaping and designing Social Studies course and related educational outcomes in future are also valuable. Social Studies course is one of the important courses carried out in secondary education level of social sciences which includes many different disciplines. It is inevitable that the researches related to the motivations and attitudes, which are among the most important means of achieving this course and achieving these gains, will be renewed over time. Because the world is changing constantly and rapidly changing educational conditions, inputs and outputs. In this study involving the motivation and attitudes of the students towards the Social Studies education program which changes depending on this phenomenon; the dimensions of motivation, theories and their relationship with education were also discussed by exploiting the previous studies. In this study, scanning model was used as a research model. In this study, 5-point Likert-type motivation and attitude scales were used to determine the current state of motivation and attitudes of secondary school students towards Social Studies course. What this study, it is hoped that both students will be encouraged and directed to positive attitudes, an the relavent institutions will contribute to the formation of opinions and decisions regarding the future design of the Social Studies course.
