The writing anxiety levels of the secondary school students and the determination of the reasons (Elazığ)

2019, xiii+78 The aim of this study was to determine the level and causes of writing anxiety of secondary school students and to determine whether anxiety differed according to gender, class, the level of mother education, the level of father education and frequency of reading books. In this research, there is an open-ended mixed-method model which is a way of both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Writing Anxiety Scale to obtain quantitative data, Structured Interview Form for obtaining qualitative data. While the one-way anova and t test were used in the quantitative clearance analysis, the study group of this research was established in the second period of 2018-2019 educational research, and 364 secondary school students in the Mustafa Kemal Secondary School in Elazığ were founded. In addition, 20 students with high level of anxiety in these classes were interviewed face to face on the reasons of writing anxiety and the reasons that fed their concerns were examined in depth. As a means of collecting data, Karakuş Tayşi and Taşkın (2018) published a 16-item, 5-point Likert-type writing anxiety scale. Together with them, the reasons for planning writing qualitative planning concerns are identified, and the interview formula consisting of 11 open-ended questions, one of the specialist-oriented ones, is here as another data collection tool here. As a result of the research, it was found that writing anxiety of secondary school students showed a significant difference according to the grade level, the educational level of parents and the frequency of reading books. At the same time, according to the data obtained from the reasons of writing anxiety of secondary school students, students' concerns are mostly; it was found that the anxiety of being evaluated by others, lack of self-confidence and difficulty in identifying the subject.
