Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to examine the formal and informal supportive program applications implemented in secondary schools that have achieved success in preparing students for the top 3% in the LGS exam in the last three years in Kırşehir province. The research is a case study design in the qualitative research type. This study, which uses the criterion sampling method, was obtained from 69 students, 20 teachers and administrators, and 28 parents in secondary schools in Kırşehir province. The data of the study were collected using semi-structured interview forms developed separately by the researcher for students, teachers-administrators and parents. Interview forms with open-ended questions were applied in the form of face-to-face interviews. Data analysis was done using the descriptive analysis method. According to the research findings, most of the students stated that the most important factors that increase their academic success in LGS are motivation, regular study, guidance, family support, remedial courses, taking private lessons, social activities, good physical conditions of the school and the interest of teachers. It has been concluded by most of the teachers and administrators that the textbooks given by the state to students preparing for LGS are inadequate in terms of questions and activities, that the courses are productive with the interested and regular participation of the students in the Support and Training Courses (DYK), and that student follow-up, coaching and level classes increase success. It has been concluded by most of the parents that the textbooks are insufficient in preparing for the LGS, that the Support and Training Courses (DYK) are efficient, and that they need to receive support and reinforcement while preparing for the LGS exam
