A study of presenting the facts and analyzing the events of Islamic conquests from the perspectives of orientalists

This study explains the history, aims and literature of orientalism. In this context, the views of orientalists on the Islamic conquests and their relations with colonial activities are discussed by making use of their own works. First of all, the views of orientalists about the aims and social effects of the Islamic conquests are given. Then, it is mentioned that orientalists, as a precursor of colonial activities, fueled sectarian differences between religions and Islamic societies and supported nationalism discussions.
