Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of learning exercises with balance and upper extremity coordination on children with autism. Children between the ages of 8 and 16 with Autism Spectrum Disorder were informed about their families and their participation was made on a voluntary basis. Children with autism were divided into two groups as experimental group (n=12) and control group (n=12). The study group received 1-1.5 hours of differential learning exercise in addition to their programs for 8 weeks, 3 days a week. The control group did not have any exercise other than its own education and training program. The Bruininks-Oseretsky Motor Competence Test - Second Edition (BOT-2) was used before and after the 8-week exercise program. The data obtained from our study were analyzed in SPSS package program. According to the normality test results, it was determined that the data were not distributed normally. Accordingly, Wilcoxon Test was used for intragroup comparisons and Mann Whitney U Test was used for intergroup comparisons. Significance level was accepted as p <0.05. According to the pre-test and post-test results, significant differences were found in the balance test (p <0.002) and upper extremity coordination test (p <0.002) of the study group. 0.118). As a result, it can be concluded that the difference training in children with autism spectrum disorder has positive results on motor development.
