Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effectiveness of father-mediated video modeling instruction on children with autism to imitate object actions was examined. Firstly, it was aimed to examine the effect levels of father-mediated video modeling teaching on the imitation levels of children with ASD. Secondly, it was aimed to examine the post-teaching achievement levels of children with ASD and their permanence/conservation levels of children with ASD and their permanence/conservation levels after education. Thirdly, it was aimed to examine the social validity level of father-mediated video modeling teaching on fathers. In the videos in this study, fathers were used as models. The imitation levels were recorded after the video model demonstration. The research design is one-subject experimental design, "Multiple probe pattern between subjects". The dependent variable of the research is the imitation levels of the subjects and the independent variable is the teaching of being a model with father-mediated video. The study group of the study consisted of three subjects with ASD who were between 40-43 months. Two of the subjects are girls and one male. In order to determine the effect of video modeling teaching on imitation skills, the data of baseline level, teaching order, probe and monitoring phases were obtained. The findings obtained in the study showed that the father-mediated video modeling teaching was effective in the two subjects studied on the level of imitating objects with autistic children. Although the level of imitation was not reached in the other subject at the level that meets the criteria, it was determined that the imitation level at the end of the instruction was higher than the level of beginning. It was determined that the imitation skill acquired through father-mediated video modeling teaching preserved the level of imitation at the end of the instruction, in the monitoring phases carried out in the first, second and fourth weeks after the teaching. Social validity data were obtained from fathers through interviews. It was determined that the level of social validity on fathers on the imitation levels of father-mediated video modeling teaching was high.
