Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted examine the effects of need satisfaction, intrinsic motivation and attachment styles within the framework of self determination, on subjective well-beings of university students.Study group consisted of 638 students comprised by 404 female, 234 male students who attended various undergraduate programs at Gazi University, Department of Education in the 2007-2008 Academic year. In the study, "Needs Satisfaction Scale", ?Motivation?s Resources and Problems Scale?, ?Relationship Questionnaire? and ?Subjective Well-Being Scale? are used. Data Analysis was performed through hierarchical regression method.The analysis revealed that there is positive and significant correlation between autonomy, sufficiency and relevance, which are subsets of need satisfaction and subjective well-being; moreover need satisfaction is of great importance while explaining subjective well-being; there is positive and significant correlation between intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation and amotivation that are sub-dimensions of motivation and subjective well-being in addition, intrinsic motivation and amotivation are of great importance in explaining subjective well-being; there is positive correlation between secure attachment and subjective well?being which are sub-dimensions of attachment styles; there is negative and significant correlation between dismissing, fearful and preoccupied attachment and subjective well-being in addition, only secure attachment is importance in explaining subjective well-being.Keywords: Self-determination, need satisfaction, motivation, attachment styles, subjective well-being.
