Abstract (EN)
Nev rtheless, m Uzbekistan and Turkey, research in thisgfiel d p r e d om antly concentrated on the notion of the root. This has a etrımentaJ _ımpact on the comprehension of the subject matter. Synonymy ıs concerned with the source from which a word riginates, that is, its basis. It is important to distinguish between false cognates and the henomenon of false equivalence, which is often confused with the former. False cognates, which are closely related to the concept of cognates, are words that have a similar meaning and sound structure but have different etymologies. In contrast, false equivalence refers o the idea that two words are used to refer to the same concept, espite having different etymologies. As a result, the majority of studies on cognates have been essentially concerned with false equivalence in terms of content, given that this distinction has not een made. Synonymy is concemed with the etymological origins of ords. However, the concept of equivalence is more closely related o the meaning of words. he words in a language can facilitate an understanding of the language's origin, the influence of loanwords, and the impact of language change. Accordingly, the objective of this study is to xamine the synonyms between the Turkish and Uzbek language airs and to analyse them in detail with a lexicographical approach. n this context, the Turkish and Uzbek words forming the hasis of ur study were extracted from dictionaries written in both languages. he words with the same origin were identified together with their meanings. In order to facilitate the determination of the categories to hich the homonyms belong, the collected words are presented in ables according to their type classification. The objective here is to scertain the categories from which the quotation is derived and the ategories in which the basic (core) words ofTurkish and Uzbek are situated. he synonyms identified and listed in Turkish and Uzbek dictionaries are derived from a range of sources, including Old Turkish, Arabic, Persian, French, Italian, Latin and other languages. It is evident that the presence of Arabic and Persian words in both languages is primarily due to their religious and historical influence. In contrast, the status of French and Italian words in both languages is distinct. These words can be regarded as direct quotations in urkish and indirect quotations through Russian in Uzbek.
