Psychological empowerment for teachers working in special education and rehabilitation centers

The purpose of this study is to determine the level of psychological of teachers working in Special Education and Rehabilitation Centers and the need for psychological empowerment. Physical conditions in the training centers where teachers working in Special Education and Rehabilitation Centers, the educational lack of the staff, the need for special needs of the students depending on the type and degree of disability and the issues such the need to constantly develop themselves, can cause stress to teachers, and psychologically fatigue them. At this point, it is seen that the psychological strengthening of the teachers in terms of both their psychological situations and the functioning of these training centers is important. Teachers working in Special Education and Rehabilitation Centers in Diyarbakır province have been included in this research. In this study, personal information Form and psychological empowerment scale have been applied to 299 teachers selected by simple random method. The scale data have been analyzed by SPSS 24.0 statistical program. According to the results of the study, it has been found out thatthe perceptions of teachers in special education and rehabilitation centers, sense, competence and autonomy perceptions dimensions are "high"; their affect perceptions dimensions are "medium" no significant difference between the teachers of psychological empowerment has statistically been found according to gender and marital status. On the other hand, a statistically significant difference has been found according to the perceptions of psychological empowerment, age total working time and educational variables of the teachers.
