Mathematics teaching enriched with technology supported activities for gifted students

The main purpose of the study is to examine the effects of mathematics teaching programme enriched with technology-assisted activities prepared based on the educational needs of the gifted students on their mathematics achievement and their attitudes towards mathematics. For that purpose quantitive research method was used. 36 fifth grade students of a sciences and art center situated in Antalya in the second term of 2020-2021 academic year, defined as gifted and studying in the programme of realizing of individual abilities, constituted the study group. The students in the study group have attended the programme of enriched mathematics teaching with technology assisted activities for 8 weeks. Survey data was collected with the mathematics achievement test and scales of attitudes towards mathematics developed by Önal (2013). SPSS 22.0 Statistic Programme was used in the data analysis and imposed on related samples tests and Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test, Wilcoxon signed rank test. Following the study, it has been established that using enriched mathematics programme with technology-assisted activities increased the gifted students' mathematics achievement remarkably, on the other hand a remarkable impact was not observed on the gifted students' attitudes towards mathematics.
