Abstract (EN)

Microstrip patch antennas are widely used in wireless communication systems due to their advantages such as low manufacturing cost and ease of fabrication. However, performance limitations such as narrow operating bandwidth and limited gain necessitate various design improvements. In this thesis, the design of an array of microstrip patch antennas using parasitic patches for bandwidth and gain enhancement is studied. This study aims to improve the performance parameters by adding parasitic patches to the patch array antenna structure. Design parameters such as the optimum distance between the main and parasitic patches, dielectric material properties and array layout are analysed in detail. The results show that the addition of parasitic patches significantly increases the operating frequency bandwidth and gain of the antenna. It is concluded that this design offers an efficient solution in areas such as high frequency communication systems and satellite applications.
