Abstract (EN)
Fiber-reinforced hybrid and non-hybrid composites have important uses in engineering applications where strength-to-weight ratio is required. Hybrid composites provide a combination of properties such as tensile modulus, compressive strength and impact strength that cannot be achieved in non-hybrid composite materials. Hybrid composites from the middle of the 20th century; It has been accepted as structural materials with high efficiency and increased performance, and its usage areas are increasing rapidly. In this study, the mechanical, toughness and low-speed weight drop properties of hybrid and non-hybrid composites were investigated. In the experimental study, carbon fiber, basalt fiber, glass fibler and 304 type stainless steel fabric with 50 mesh size were used in composite production. Epoxy resin set with its hardener was chosen as the matrix material. In the manufacturing process, all hybrid and non-hybrid composites were produced using 10 layers of fiber. For the relevant tests, a total of 12 different composite materials were produced, including 4 different non-hybrid, 4 different triple combinations and 4 different quadruple combinations. As a result of the tests, the mechanical strengths of hybrid and non-hybrid materials are in the form of carbon fiber, basalt fiber, glass fiber and steel fabric, from largest to smallest. It has been observed that steel fabric plays an important role in the toughness and low speed drop test of hybrid composites.
