Abstract (EN)

Fusarium oxysporum melongenae is one of the biotic factors affecting productivity in eggplant. The aim of this thesis was to transfer this pathogen resistance, which is not found in cultivated species, to the next generations by interspecific crosses and to obtain information about the transcriptional regulations occurring in these generations. Solanum melongena and Solanum macrocarpon species were crossed and then F2 generation was obtained by selfing. After pathological tests were performed in the parent - F1 - F2 generations, transcriptome analysis was performed by RNA sequencing. With the transcripts obtained, comparisons were made between susceptible and resistant samples across generations and common genes were identified. A total of 70195 unigenes were identified. Gene ontology analysis revealed that biological processes such as catalytic activity, cellular process, metabolic process are regulated differently among the samples in resistance to Fusarium oxysporum melongenae pathogen. As a result, a comparable transcriptome response was obtained from plant leaves in interspecific hybridization and subsequent generations. It is thought that the data obtained by this RNA sequencing analysis will contribute significantly to breeding studies in eggplant.
