Abstract (EN)
In this study, a microcontroller based temperature controlled hypothermia system is designed and devised. The parameters of the system are tested. Then, the right ear, left ear, rectum, and brain temperatures of a rat are measured with an experimental setup in order to determine the correlation between brain and other temperatures. This correlation is modeled using neural networks. As a result of modeling, close correlation between brain and other regions temperatures has been determined. Experimental setup consist of, a power supply, a microcontroller based temperature controller, and a peltier cooler. The practical system is tested firstly on rats in order to prove its medical usefulness. The positive results show that this system can be safely used on humans in the cases of brain injury, bleeding and some surgical operations that need a lower body temperature.
