Abstract (EN)

The Globalization had made borders disappear and businesses could compete with other businesses in the international level. In the aspect of organizational management employee empowerment became an obligatory management technique in order to gain comparative advantage. Increasing organizational effectiveness is aimed with empowerment in other words own decision making of the personel, taking the responsibility and competence related with his job. Employee empowerment is important in the integration of employee?s own objectives and company?s objectives and developing a positive attitude towards the job. It is thought that employee empowerment could increase job satisfaction and organizational commitment and these would also increase organizational success and effectiveness, gain competitive advantage and improve service quality. Because of this, determining whether employee empowerment practices has a significant relation with job satisfaction and organizational commitment in hotel establishments becomes important. In this thesis, employee empowerment?s effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment is questioned and a quantitative research has been done in four and five stars hotels in the Aegean Region. The results of the study had proved that employee empowerment has a significant effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment and it is determined that employee empowerment could increase job satisfaction and organizational commitment in hotel establishments.
