Tuğrul OĞULATA: Prof. Dr. Orhan BÜYÜKALACAIn this study, certain types of PES/VIS yarns and wovens including elastaneare examined on an attempt to provide or suggest some solutions for the problemsfaced during or after their productions, related to the structural and/or processparameters of these products. For this subject, especially we chose one type of theyarn Ne 28/2 PES/VIS/ELASTANE (78 Dtex) and the other types of yarns have beenhandled, which they are commonly produced and used in textile industry.On the other hand, ten different types of fabrics have been studied, whichthey were mostly produced using the yarn given above, under the mill conditions, soas to evaluate the problems on the woven fabrics which include elastane. On thefabric?s; the tests for the colour fastness, shrinkage, elasticity, seam slippage, pilling,tear strength, tensile strength were applied.On the evaluation of the results we have proposed of giving some suggestionsfor improvement of the process and structural parameters of the yarns and fabrics toincrease the quality and performances.Key Words: Elastane, Yarn, Fabric, Fastness, Tensile Strength
