Abstract (EN)

Batteries are often used as the primary energy storage element of rechargeable electrical systems. Today, as battery-powered devices increase and develop, the efficient use and duration of use of the battery has become critical. In this context, knowing the state of charge (SOC) value of the battery is an important parameter that contributes to the efficient use of the battery and to prolonging the life of the battery by preventing overcharge-discharge. Therefore, it has become very important to calculate the SOC value in batteries with high precision. In this thesis, in order to calculate the SOC value of the battery accurately and with high precision, modified Kalman Filter method using dynamic circuit model, Voltage-based method using battery terminal voltage with Rint circuit model, and Coulomb counting method are presented. These methods are also validated by simulation studies. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of these methods and their comparision are explained.
