Abstract (EN)

In the first step of the study schiff bases were synthesized by the condensation reactions of 3-amino methyl pyridine with salicylaldehyde, 5- chlorosalicylaldehyde and 5-bromosalicylaldehyde. In the second step of the study, Copper complexes of these schiff bases were obtained by the reactions with copper(II) chloride dihydrate (CuCl2·2H2O). The tautomeric character of the schiff bases and their complexes were studied with UV-Vis Spectroskopic method. The structure of the schiff bases were elucidated on the basis of Elemental Analysis, FT-IR, 1H-, 13C-NMR, Thermogravimetric Analysis methods. The structure of the complexes were characterized by Elemental Analysis, FT-IR, Thermogravimetric Analysis and Magnetic Susceptibility methods. Keywords: Schiff Base, Azomethine, Complexes of Metal, UV-Vis,Tautomerizm
