Abstract (EN)
The metal complexes of pyrimidine derivatives are important not only in bioinorganic but also in electrochemistry and catalytic studies. Few studies about the pyrimidine Schiff bases and their metal complexes were found but, the studies done on this subject may be a potential properties (anticancer, antibacterial, antifungal, etc.). has led us to work in this area.Schiff base ligand was synthesized from reaction of N-aminopyrimidine and 5-chloro-2-hydroxyacethophenone. Schiff base metal complexes were synthesized from reaction of a few transition metal salts and ligand. Metal complexes and ligand were characterized by elemental, magnetic susceptibility and UV-Vis, 1H- NMR, 13C-NMR, TGA, FT-IR spectral analysis. Ni(II) complex formed (ML2)?5H2O in the form but other complexes formed (ML2) in the form. Octahedral structure has been proposed for Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes. All compounds were found to be non-electrolytes in the DMF solutions.
