Abstract (EN)

In this study, olive residue was selected as a raw material and fastpyrolysis of olive residue was conducted in a fixed-bed tubular reactor andthen upgrading of pyrolysis vapours performed in the second stage. In thefirst part of this study, effects of important pyrolysis parameters such aspyrolysis temperature, reaction time, heating rate, sweeping gas flow rate, particle size on pyrolysis yields were investigated in a fixed-bed tubularreactor (first stage). Maximum oil yield was achieved as 46.72 % within areaction time of 5 minutes, pyrolysis temperature of 500 oC, heating rate of500 oCmin-1, in the particle size range of 0.85>Dp>0.425 mm. In the secondpart, effects of catalyst type, selectivity, and temperature of catalyst bed onpyrolysis product distribution and composition were investigated at thesecond stage and the various characteristics of pyrolysis products obtainedunder these conditions were identified by spectroscopic and chromatographicmethods. Keywords: Olive residue, fast pyrolysis, upgrading, artificial fuel, catalyst.
