Abstract (EN)
Today, the fact that fossil fuels are about to come to an end, the emission values of petroleum derivative products that directly adversely affect human health, and the developing technology have encouraged some researches and improvements. Within the scope of the study, the effects of the reuse of alcohols and wastes to solve these problems were examined. Fuels and alcohols obtained from wastes can be added to petroleum fuels in certain proportions by volume, or they can be used directly in engines. In this study, the effects of ethanol, methanol, butanol and pyrolytic fuel mixtures on diesel engine, which are petroleum derivatives, on engine performance, combustion and emission values were investigated in a direct injection diesel engine. The experiments were carried out for all fuel mixtures at constant 2400 rpm at 3, 6, 9 and 12 Nm engine loads. It was determined that alcohol mixtures added to diesel and pyrolytic fuels decrease the density, cetane number, lower calorific value, flash point, carbon content and hydrogen content of the test fuels and increase the oxygen content. At all engine loads except 3 Nm, the highest maximum cylinder pressure values were obtained with D80P10M10 fuel with the smallest cetane number, while the lowest maximum cylinder pressure values were obtained with D100 fuel with the highest cetane number. The maximum heat release values were obtained with pyrolytic and alcohol blended fuels at a higher value than D100. It was determined that it increases the specific fuel consumption by 3-15% compared to standard diesel fuel and decreases the thermal efficiency by 1-8%. In addition, it was observed that CO and CO2 emission values decreased due to carbon, hydrogen and oxygen contents in fuels, and NOx emissions varied according to load conditions.
