Abstract (EN)

In this study, poly(maleic anhydride-alt-1-octene) copolymer was grafted with hexylamine and decylamine at different ratios to obtain graft copolymers suitable for our purposes and the structure characterization of the obtained graft copolymers were investigated. The synthesis of the copolymer was carried out in 1,4-dioxane at 70 ℃ in 24 hours using benzoyl peroxide as the initiator. The grafting process was carried out using a hexyl amine and a decyl amine in a 1,4-dioxane. The synthesized copolymer and its grafted derivatives were purified and dried under vacuum, followed by characterization. In the characterization stage, the structures of synthesized polymers were elucidated by FT-IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR methods. Acid numbers and grafting degrees were determined by titration method. Viscosimetric behaviors were followed and it was found that the intrinsic viscosity increased with grafting. The thermal behavior of polymers was investigated by TGA and DSC methods and it was understood that the grafting decreased thermal stability. Key Words: Macro-branched, maleic anhydride, 1-octene, hexylamine, decylamine, grafted copolymer.
