Abstract (EN)
In this study, the synthesis and characterization of poly(maleic anhydride-alt-cyclopentene) were carried out as complex radical copolymerization. The copolymer was synthesized by preparation of solution of five different monomer compositions. The syntheses were performed in solution phase at 70 ? C and nitrogen atmosphere by using benzoyl peroxide as initiator. The synthesized copolymers precipitated with methanol, then washed with several portions of dioxane and dried at 40 ? C under vacuum. For the characterization of the copolymers NMR, FTIR, TGA, elemental analysis, titration and viscosimetric methods were used. Viscosimetric measurements carried out at 25 ? 0,03 ? C were showed that the molecular weight of the obtained products is very close to each other. Composition of the copolymers were analyzed by FTIR, elemental analysis and titration methods. Finally, the monomer reactivity ratios of the copolymers were calculated by FTIR method and the results showed that the copolymers are alternating.
