Viscosity measurement in polyethylene glycol-salt-water system

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the change of viscosity with temperature and concentration isinvestigated for polyethylene glycol-salt-water systems. Potassium phosphateand ammonium sulfate salts are used in the systems. Viscosities of polyethyleneglycol-salt-water systems with known concentrations are measured. At 20, 25,30, 35, 40 oC temperatures, viscosity measurements of the systems are done at2,5, 5, 7,5, 10, 12,5, 15, 17,5, 20 % (w/w) concentrations for polyethylene glycol,at 5, 5,9, 6,5, 7,5, 8,2, 9,6, 11, 13 % (w/w) concentrations for potassiumphosphate and at 7,5, 8,5, 8,75, 10,5, 11,5, 12, 13, 14% (w/w) concentrations forammonium sulfate. It is observed that as the temperature increases at constantconcentration, the viscosities decrease and as the concentration at constanttemperature increases, the viscosities increase as well.
