Abstract (EN)

In this study, usage of polypyrrole as a sensor and potentiometric detector for the determination of biological species. The usage of polypyrrole as a potentiometric detector for determination of ascorbic acid is the first part of this study. Polypyrrole film prepared by electrochemical polymerization was used as a potentiometric detector in ion chromatography system. In the determination of ascorbic acid by using polypyrrole electrode, several parameters that effects the performance of electrode and chromatographic conditions were optimized. The results show that polypyrrole is a detector material that exhibits high selectivity and sensitivty towards ascorbic acid. Then, polypyrrole electrode was applied to determination of ascorbic acid in various pharmaceutical samples. In the second part of the study, the usage of overoxidized nanofiber structured polypyrrole electrode as a sensor for determination of paracetamol was investigated. The electrochemical performances of electrodes towards paracetamol were investigated with differential pulse voltammetry method and paracetamol was determinated in various pharmaceutical samples. In the last part of the study, elctrochemically treated nanofiber structured polypyrrole electrode were used for dopamine determination. The electrochemical performances of electrodes towards dopamine were investigated in the presence of ascorbic acid and uric acid that have interference effect in dopamine determination. In the presence of this molecules, electrodes exhibited high selectivity and sensitivity towards dopamine. Polypyrrole electrodes were applied to determination of dopamine in blood serum and various pharmaceutical samples. The results show that electrochemically treated nanofiber polypyrrole can be used as a sensor in the determination of dopamine.Key Words: Polypyrrole, Potentiometric detector, Sensor, Ascorbic Acid, Paracetamol, Dopamine
