The Effects of social studies teaching materials prepared through power point presentations on students' attitudes and performances

Dr. İlhan VARANKThe aim of this research is to find out the effect of multiple-field presentationprograms, which adres to students' both vision and hearing senses, for students' learningperformances and attitudes about the lesson. Because of that, in this research,experimental method was used and the group studying with multiple-field presentationand the group studying with classical method were constrasted.The subject of this experiment were chosen randomly from two school , whichhas 30 students for 7 th grade classes from a town in a city of Egean region in 2004 -2005 education year.The experiment of the multiple-field presentation was carried out on tje unit of"The Conquest of İstanbul and Afterwards". For the experiment group, multiple-fieldprograms were used for which moving slayts were prepared and with the projectionmachine these slayts were showed to the students in the lessons. On the other hand,control group studied same unit with classical method.To question the hypothesis of the research, the marks of students from succes tests andlesson interest polls are contrasted betwewn the two experimental groups. The results ofthe research showed that there in an important difference between the succes of thestudents who studied with multiple-field programs and classical methods. Also theresults of the research showed that there is an important difference between the students'interests in the lesson.
