Abstract (EN)

This research aims to examine the process of creating a recital performance from this perspective by determining the processes of professional pianists preparing a piece for performance. In this context, the sample of the research consists of eight professional pianists, three women and five men, who are known for their important concert performances in Turkey. The universe of the research consists of professional pianists performing recital performances in Turkey. The data in this study were obtained by using open-ended survey questions, participant observation and literature review methods. According to the results of this research, which is descriptive in terms of examining and evaluating a recital performance by investigating the processes of professional pianists preparing a piece for performance, the preparation processes for piano concerts consist of mental, physical and cultural stages, there are personal differences in the preparation processes of professional pianists, and common behaviors when choosing their repertoire. its results are included. It has been determined that recital and concerts with orchestra should be evaluated in different contexts. Keywords: Concert, piano, professional pianist, recital
