Abstract (EN)

Project logistics is a concept used for the logistic operations of loads that are non-standard in terms of size and characteristics. Since each load in this scope possesses unique characteristics, the logistic operation processes are carried out through a detailed and specialized project. The tools, equipment to be used, permits required from authorities, documents to be arranged, and business processes differ significantly from standard palletized loads. This activity, also known as project transportation, mainly involves loads used in heavy industry, such as large parts, disassembled and block parts of energy plants, and specially manufactured construction machines like tunnel boring machines. With the increasing production capacity and diversity of the industry worldwide and in Turkey, the machines and parts used also become more specialized. Naturally, this development implies a growing need for project logistics services. Project logistics not only covers transportation operations but also complex operational processes such as specialized distribution, storage, or handling according to customer demands. Among renewable energy methods, one of the most preferred methods is wind energy power plants. As their environmentally friendly features become more widespread and costs decrease with increased production capacity, their global usage is steadily increasing. Turkey, due to its geographical location and climate conditions, has an advantageous position in terms of wind energy potential when compared globally. Therefore, the number of wind energy power plants in Turkey is continuously increasing. Wind turbines, which are large components found in large numbers in each power plant, are transported to the installation site through project logistics due to their size. With the advancement of technology, more practical tools and equipment are produced in this field, thus improving the logistic processes of turbine components. The purpose of this thesis is to obtain data about project logistics, identify shortcomings in the logistic operation process for wind energy power plants, and develop measures to enhance efficiency. In the theoretical part of the study, general information about project logistics is provided, processes are defined, and its relationship with wind energy power plants is explained. In the practical part of the study, experts from companies operating in the field of project logistics were interviewed to thoroughly examine all processes involved in the logistic operations of wind energy power plants. A semi-structured interview form was used as the data collection method. The data recorded through note-taking during the interviews were later transferred to electronic media. The data obtained through this process were analyzed using descriptive analysis and content analysis methods.
