Teacher's views on the charismatic leadership behaviors of project shool principals

The aim of this research is to investigate the charismatic leadership behaviors of principals working in project schools by using teacher opinions. In this context, the charismatic leadership characteristics of the principals were tried to be determined by taking the opinions of the teachers participating in the study. In this study holistic multiple case design which one of the qualitative research techniques, was used. The group who participates of the research, consists of 15 project school teachers, working in Antalya. The data were collected through face-to-face interviews and 15 questions were asked to the participants by using the semi-structured interview form technique. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the data. From the data obtained during the research process is , the project school administrators have strong communication skills, influence the opposite group, have merit, fair, reliable, have strong ability of rhetoric, have a good command, can use body language well, unite, make them feel valuable, brave, understanding, courteous, supportive and who can work overtime. It has been seen that those school administrators are active, sensitive to the needs of teachers, make an academic career, show emotional commitment to their duties and have behaviors that can create inspiration, and most of the administrators try to exhibit charismatic leadership characteristics in the form of practices and management. However, although their areas of authority have been expanded, it has been concluded that some administrators sometimes abstain from taking risks due to current regulations and procedures, that they act more courageously in charismatic leadership behaviors exhibited by administrators who have higher education levels, already have or are pursuing an academic career and longer service periods.
