Investment project evaluation with promethee sequencing method and production sector application

Abstract (EN)

Nowadays making investment has become inevitable for firms to maintain their current position and to get a larger share of the market. In this study, a ranking method PROMETHEE, which is defined in the literature as multi-criteria decision-making method, is used to select the highest priority investment option among cement factories in four different cities of an investor who decides to invest in cement sector. With questionnaire studies internal rate of return, benefit cost ratio, repayment period, average profitability ratio, break-even point, capacity utilization ratio and skilled employment ratio have been determined as project evaluation criteria. Weighting of criteria and setting equal weights with AHP method have been considered. For both situations alternatives have been prioritized by partial ranking with PROMETHEE I and full ranking with PROMETHEE II. After these, criteria walking weights analysis, stability interval anlaysis and GAIA analysis has been used. In doing so, it has been provided assistance to the decision maker in determining the most suitable project among alternatives investments.
