Abstract (EN)

In this study our aim is to evaluate the treatment processes of patients diagnosed with pseudoaneurysm who were treated at our center. In the retrospectively designed clinical study, a total of 202 patients were included between December 2011 and May 2024. A total of 27 (13.4%) patients underwent emergency surgery while 175 (86.6%) patients received pressure treatment under ultrasound guidance. The procedure was successful in 155/175 (88.6%) patients while 20 (11.4%) patients underwent elective surgery. The median follow-up was 31 days (1-84 days), and recanalization was detected in 85/155 patients, who then underwent elective surgery. In a total of 175 patients the risk factors identified for recanalization were: body mass index (p<0.001), hypertension (p=0.016), diabetes (p=0.016), obesity (p=0.015), use of antiaggregants (p=0.036) and anticoagulants (p=0.004), simultaneous use of antiaggregants and anticoagulants (p=0.041), aneurysm diameter (p<0.001), number of antiaggregants (p<0.001) and anticoagulants (p=0.005). In patients undergoing surgical treatment, obesity, hypertension, smoking, myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular events, coronary artery disease, the use of antiplatelets and anticoagulants and the rate of left-sided lesions were found to be higher while the rate of surgical treatment in iatrogenic etiology was found to be lower. The measured aneurysm diameter and area were higher in patients undergoing surgical treatment. The mortality rate did not differ between patients who did and didn't receive surgical treatment. The formation of pseudoaneurysm depends on many risk factors and it is important to evaluate the risk factors when determining the appropriate treatment method. As a result, although minimally invasive methods are considered the first option for treatment, the importance of surgical treatment should be kept in mind in complicated cases. By determining the appropriate treatment method and administering it as soon as possible, it can prevent potential morbidity and mortality.
