Abstract (EN)

This study planed to determine protective effect of borax in doxorubucine induced cardiotoxicity in rats. In this study, 20 Wistar-Albino male rats were used. Rats were divided in to four groups each of which includes 5 rats. Control group (standart pellet food + water +serum physiological), Doxorubucine (3,75 mg/kg/ip, one dose in a week), Doxorubucine + borax (3,75 mg/kg/ip + 25 mg/kg/oral/ respectively), borax (25 mg/kg/oral, one dose in a week). At the end of the experiment MDA, GSH, CAT, SOD and CK levels were investigated in blood samples. According to the obtain results MDA levels of borax induced groups were decreased significantly when compared with control group. Besides, CK levels in all group were increased according to the control. Of the increases only in DXR induced group importance as p<0,05 has been determined. As a result, these data indicates that borax may use to prevent cardiotoxic effect of doxorubucine.
