Abstract (EN)
Semiotic is a branch of science that produce numerous methods of analysis to detect how the meanings of meaningful complements were emerged. In this context A.J Greimas put forward the first inclusive, plain and consistent method of analysis. In this master thesis which is inspired by the semiotic, Greimasian Semiotic is functionalized and Refik Halit Karay's (1888–1965) stories in his two books entitled as Memleket Hikayeleri and Gurbet Hikayeleri are analized. In the first chapter of the thesis, information about Greimas and his ideas. His ideas are deeply analized. While Greimas' ideas are given, thinkers who inspire Greimas and thinkers who has contribution to emerge the actant model, are mentioned. In the second chapter, actantial model is detailly narrated. In the third chapter; discoursive level, narrative level and deep level are handled into three different tittles. Within the analysis narrative program is detected, the table of actants model is constituted, after the detection of the actants, their general transformations are given. After the manipulation, competence, performance and sanction hierarchy of the actants are shown, the deep level of the text are shown into the semiotic square. At the result of the thesis, Refik Halit Karay's stories are semiotically analized and the actant strategy used by the writer is detected. The deep level and surface level of the stories are analized to try a different method of analysis.
