Determination of constraints against participate in recreational activities: Perspectives of university students

The purpose of this study was to examine university students' perceptions of leisureconstraints and to compare these with regard to some demographic variables. The sampleof this study was 650 (413 female and 237 male) university students from differentuniversities in 2011-2012 Spring Semester. In this study, Leisure ConstraintsQuestionnaire-18 (Gürbüz et al., 2012) was used as a data collection tool. In Order todemonstrate whether there were significant differences between the scores of someindependent variable acquired from the scale, t and One-Way Anova tests were processed.The findings of the study showed that there were significant differences between universitystudents' perceptions of leisure constraints and some demographic variables which weregender, university, economic level and the state of beingi nterested in any sport branches inthe past.KeyWords: Leisure, recreation, leisure constraints
