Abstract (EN)
The main aim of the current study was to examine the relationship between Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) tendency and everyday memory, with the mediating role of metacognition. A total of 696 young adults aged between 18 to 25 participated in the study, which was conducted using Qualtrics Online Survey Software. Participants who voluntarily joined the study filled out a Demographical Information Form and subsequently filled out study's research instruments, including the Adult ADHD Self Report Scale, Metacognition Questionnaire-30, and Multidimensional Everyday Memory Questionnaire. To thoroughly investigate the research question, various dimensions of everyday memory were also examined. The results showed that the relationship between ADHD tendency, metacognition, and everyday memory was significant and positive. Moreover, ADHD tendency significantly predicted metacognition and everyday memory, while metacognition significantly predicted everyday memory. The findings of the study revealed that metacognition significantly mediated the relationship between ADHD tendency and everyday memory. The findings of the current study were assessed and discussed in relation to relevant literature. This research is considered to have made valuable insights to the existing literature on everyday memory. Keywords: ADHD Tendency, Metacognition, Everyday Memory
