Abstract (EN)

In visual arts, the flower motif performs an important function not only as an aesthetic concern but also as a narrative device that reflects the artist's inner world. Within this framework, flower paintings have been examined under the headings of color and form usage, compositional arrangements, and expressionist approach; through a literature review, the main tendencies that emerge in flower paintings across different periods and styles have been identified. The researcher, in both the role of observer and participant, has produced their own flower paintings through an experimental and critical process. The floral compositions created in accordance with various painters' styles have been analyzed in terms of their plastic elements namely color palette, formal relationships, and focal-point arrangements. These analyses demonstrate that, through the dynamics of motif formation, the plastic elements in flower paintings offer viewers a range of distinct emotional experiences. Furthermore, the progression observed in the researcher's work when considering the impact of experimental solutions developed during the process provides original insights into how the flower motif can be enriched by an individual expressive language. Based on detailed examinations of how numerous painters have followed different paths, depicted flowers, and how the researcher has represented them, each aspect has been discussed comprehensively. The effects of the various methodologies employed by the researcher in their own flower paintings have been investigated, and the studies have been analyzed in depth in light of the materials used and the results obtained. Accordingly, in the conclusion section, connections have been drawn between the researcher's works and the literature sources; a critical analysis of the researcher's work has been conducted with respect to technical aspects, plastic elements, and procedural context.
