Abstract (EN)

Remembrance is a trace, (of experiences, sensations, impressions, perceptions that had been existed in the past), which a person keeps it in the memory. If there is no memory, there is no existance or art. If there is no memory, there is no existance or art. In this context, a remembrance which takes part in the memory is also a phenomenon that forms a work of art. Memories pass on different transformations in process of painting and make their presence in paintings as symbols. The reflections of the phenomenon of memory gets clarity in the process of historical progress of art by the individualization of the artist. The artist, who had started to obtain autonomy in Reneissance and had become free by the Enlightenment and French Revolution, started to express his/her own inter world by the developments in 20th century.By the side of social memories, especially the reflections of traumatic childhood memories take important part in the formation of the autobiographical works of art.The paintings which reflected on canvas, after personal memories had documented by photographs or drawings, were analised formally and contently.
