Rfid and erp gainings in supply chain management(scm))through warehouse management

Use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) for supply chain management (SCM) system can be a viable solution to the challenges encountered in the operation of the warehouses and stores in the petroleum industry. Modern information technology (IT) and communication tools can be used as a value added tool in the SCM especially warehousing. Increasing of competincy in the market as a result of production in which technology plays important role, make it essential to regulate their own operations and business models for the companies. Cost reduction and high value additional services which are the results of new business model' s productivity are the major two critical factors. Even though better, faster and more productive operations have important role in order to achive those targets, the most important point is to include technological solutions to every process. RFID technology, one of the most important system which has been appeared as a result of technological improvements, not only provides value added solutions to companies, but also increases flow productivity, accuracy, reliability and visibility level for supply chain. Because RFID technology can be used in several industries, there has been so many research about this technology. So many companies in Turkey are trying to use and integrate this technology as well. Those studies are opening so many scientific doors day by day. As Turkish national petroleum company; Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı (TPAO) also seeks technological improvements to sustain especially for new energy area works which is being showed these days off-shore energy resources projects or public say ''sea petroleum searchs'' . Because timely response and fast procurement, logistics applications are vital for this new energy area works. Therefore, IT structure should be revised as entegrating company's ERP and new IoT system. In this study, the terms of RFID and it components with adaptation actual ERP system has been studied, applications for logistics and benefits of these applications to TPAO warehouses has been discussed.
