Abstract (EN)
There are many factors that affect individuals' relationship satisfaction. There are also studies showing that some of these factors are obsessive beliefs, obsessions and compulsions in romantic relationships and schema modes. This study was conducted to examine the relationships between obsessive beliefs, schema modes, obsessions and compulsions in romantic relationships and relationship satisfaction. The sample of the study consisted of 433 individuals between the ages of 18-65 who were in a romantic relationship. In addition to the Demographic Information Form created by the researcher, Schema Mode Inventory (SMI), Obsessive Beliefs Questionnaire-20 (OBI-20), Romantic Relationship Obsessions and Compulsions Scale (RROCS) and Relationship Satisfaction Scale (RSS) were used to collect the data. There was a significant difference between gender and obsessive beliefs and schema modes. There was a significant difference between education level and obsessive beliefs and angry child mode. It was found that the type of romantic relationship differed according to obsessive beliefs, schema modes, obsessions and compulsions in romantic relationship. Duration of romantic relationship was found to differ according to some dysfunctional schema modes. Having children showed a significant difference in terms of obsessive beliefs and some schema modes. While there was a positive correlation between age and OBI-responsibility, there was a negative correlation between age and some schema modes and obsessions and compulsions in romantic relationships. It was found that obsessive beliefs, schema modes, and obsessions and compulsions in romantic relationships are generally positively correlated, with r ranging from 0.197 to 0.417 (p < 0.01). Relationship satisfaction was found to be negatively correlated with OIA threat anticipation, certain schema modes, and obsessive-compulsive behaviors in romantic relationships. While the hurt child mode had a significant positive effect on romantic relationship obsessions and compulsions, the happy child mode had a significant negative effect. In addition, it was found that some schema modes, especially impulsive child mode and OBI-threat prediction had a significant positive effect on romantic relationship obsessions and compulsions. It was observed that happy child mode had a significant positive effect on relationship satisfaction, while RROCS-Relationship Accuracy and love for partner had a significant negative effect. It has been understood that schema modes and obsessions and compulsions in romantic relationships play a determining role in individuals' relationship satisfaction levels. The data obtained from the study and the results of the analysis were discussed within the scope of the relevant literature and various suggestions were made for future research.
