Abstract (EN)

Steering and suspension systems are components of the vehicles which provides driving safety. This system needs to be perfectly designed and produced in order to work sycronized with other systems. During the manufacturing of a tie rod end supplying the motion transmission, the edge-form rolling process which is a subsection of rolling process of manufacturing methods based on plastic deformation was examined. Within the scope of this research, the edge-form rolling apparatus with three rollers was designed and the finite element analysis of the edge-form rolling process with the edge-form rolling apparatuses with two and three rollers was made by using Simufact Forming® software. The advantages of the edge-form rolling apparatus with three rollers compared with the edge-form apparatus with two rollers. An analysis of stress and strain emerging during to the plastic deformation was made and also cross sectional change in thickness occurring on the edge-form of the tie rod end was anaylzed.
