Noun clauses in Sabahattin Ali's novels

In our study, we aimed to identify the noun phrases in Sabahattin Ali's novels The Madonna in a Fur Coat, The Devil Inside Us and Kuyucaklı Yusuf (the identities of the novels are available in the bibliography), to give an idea about the author's style and to serve as a resource for those who will do research in this field. In the introduction section, the subject, purpose, scope, literature review and limitations were revealed. In the first part, information about the author, his style and his works were summarized. In the second part, noun phrases in the novels were scanned and identified using a logging method, then transferred to a computer. Noun phrases were classified specifically according to the type of predicate noun and presented with examples under various headings. Cengiz Alyılmaz's doctoral dissertation, "The Syntax of the Orkhon Inscriptions," was used in the classification. The evaluation and conclusion section assesses the frequency of noun phrase use and its impact on the author's style. The author's descriptive skills are highlighted through the abundance of adjectives, his ability to construct strong sentences despite lengthy ones, and his avoidance of inverted sentences.
