Abstract (EN)
The developments in the field of psychology affect the sports field as well as in all fields, leading to the emergence of new developments. Various studies have been conducted on the concepts of psychology in many different countries in the field of sports. However, due to the limited number of studies in this field in Turkey is intended to contribute to the research of sports literature. The aim of this study is to reveal the sadism, narcissism, schadenfreude and team identity factors of the football fans' behaviors in Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş sports clubs, which have the most supporters in our country; It is aimed to examine the relationship between sadism and narcissism, the relationship between narcissism and schadenfreude, and the relationship between schadenfreude and team identity. In addition, sadism, narcissism, schadenfreude and team identity is to demonstrate the differentiation status according to demographic characteristics and competition watching behavior. The sample of the study consists of 683 female and male football fans. In order to test the hypotheses of the research, besides descriptive statistics, the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) method was used to verify the factor structures in the scales and evaluate the construct validity. In addition, T-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to determine the differentiation status according to the demographic characteristics and competition monitoring behaviors of the participants, and Post Hoc tests were used to determine which groups the differences were. As a result, when the relations between concepts are examined, it is determined that there is a positive relationship between sadism and narcissism, narcissism and schadenfreude, and schadenfreude and team identity. In addition, it has been stated that there are significant differences in terms of age, gender, marital status, educational status, income status, and competition monitoring behaviors.
