Abstract (EN)

It is a cultural responsibility to protect and preserve Turkish Ebru, which is one of the important elements of our cultural and artistic heritage, and to transfer it to future generations in the most accurate way. In this context, the subject of the thesis study is the evaluation of the Sadreddin Özçimi, who is known for his efforts in the art of marbling and still continues his works with the traditional method (meshk style), on the development of the art of marbling. For this purpose, firstly, interviews were held with Sadreddin Özçimi and the answers to the questions related to the subject were taken from him. Afterwards, various interviews were held with his students who could be reached, and a group of questionnaire questions prepared about their master were directed to them. In this way, information was obtained about the education method Özçimi followed, and an effort was made to reveal his teaching side as well as his artistic side. In the study, the roles of him and his students in reaching the present place of marbling during his teaching for more than 25 years were discussed. Finally, several exhibition catalogues containing Özçimi's works were examined and a total of 222 works were categorized and evaluated according to the marbling techniques and colors used by the artist, and his works in Turkish Ebru art were tried to be documented. The artist used 22 carat gold for the first time in battal marbling, and he has signed many important works in the form of written akkase marbling with his akkase marbling collections consisting of various flowers and miniatures. The most important result of the study shows that Sadreddin Özçimi's works as a continuation of traditional marbling, as well as the personal touches seen in the works of both himself and the students he trained, have developed their own styles without losing the essence of traditional marbling. 2022, xii+ 176 PAGE KEYWORDS: Sadreddin Özçimi, Akkase Marbling, Meshk Style, Turkish Marbling.
