Abstract (EN)
Aim of this retrospective study is to evaluate relationship between Class I, II and III skeletal pattern and dentoalveolar morphology with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). 60 subjects were included into this study and divided into 3 groups. Class I group comprised 20 subjects who had ANB angle between 0-4° (18 females, 2 males; mean age 18,20±3,33); Class II group comprised 20 subjects who had ANB angle greater than 4° (11 females, 9 males; mean age 18,25±4,92); Class III group comprised 20 subjects who had ANB angle less than 0° (10 females, 10 males; mean age 18,90±4,97). Root length, root width, buccolingual inclination, buccal and palatinal/lingual cortical bone and medullary bone thickness, dehiscence/fenestration presence were evaluated on each tooth and interdental site on the right sides of the jaws on CBCT images. Measurements were evaluated statistically. There was no statistically significant difference between Class I, II and III groups with regard to root length, root width, buccal and palatinal/lingual cortical bone thickness (p˃0,05). Medullary bone was thicker in Class II group significantly (p˂0,001). Buccolingual inclination of maxillary central and lateral incisors in Class II group and all mandibular teeth except 2. molars in Class III group were significantly less than the other groups (p˂0,001). At buccal sides of the teeth, Class I subjects had more dehiscences and Class II subjects had more fenestration than the other groups. Buccolingual inclination of the teeth, the presence of dehiscence/fenestration and medullary bone thickness are affected by sagittal skeletal pattern.
