Abstract (EN)
Aim: Different personality traits may affect employees' turnover intention. The aim of this study is to determine the personality types of health care workers and to examine their relationship with turnover intention. In addition, to determine the differences between personality types and turnover intention according to demographic variables. Material and Method: This study was conducted on 467 health care workers (doctors, nurses, medical secretaries-admissions, patient caregivers, health technicianstechnicians) working in public and private hospitals affiliated to Ordu Provincial Health Directorate. The research data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software and reliability, validity, correlation, t-test and one-way variance analyses were performed. Results: In the study it was observed that extraversion, conscientiousness and neuroticism dimensions of personality have a significant relationship with turnover intention and these dimensions negatively affect turnover intention, while there is no significant relationship between the dimensions of agreeableness and openness to improvement and turnover intention. It was determined by the analysis that personality types do not differ according to age and gender, but turnover intention differs according to marital status. Conclusions: It was concluded that extraversion, conscientiousness and neuroticism dimensions have a significant relationship with turnover intention and affect it negatively, while agreeableness and openness to improvement dimensions have no significant relationship/effect with turnover intention.
